SEEDA R&D Grant

R&D Grant award for S & C Thermofluids Ltd

S & C have been awarded a grant from the South-East England Development Agency (SEEDA) towards a £70K research project to investigate improving mixing and efficiency of drug delivery for metered dose inhalers(MDI's) - a common type of asthma inhaler.

S & C will apply their expertise in utilising the Coanda effect for the design of rapid mixing devices to researching a novel nozzle design for the MDI's.

If successful the new design should provide a cost effective improvement to a commonly used medical device, allowing lower drug doses to be used for the same clinical benefit and potentially reducing side-effects experienced by asthma sufferers.
