Job Vacancy: Control Systems Engineer

There is currently an opportunity for an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join the research team at S & C Thermofluids.

S & C Thermofluids Ltd provides research and engineering solutions to thermofluid and fluid dynamics challenges across a range of sectors. The company utilises analytical and experimental tools to develop engineering products and systems.

Test rigs are designed and built to satisfy the customer's research programme and there is an increasing need for PLC and control systems to maintain test conditions. S & C is looking to expand its capability in the design and programming of control systems for liquid and gaseous test rigs.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Control Systems Engineer to develop the underlying logic for control systems, select and purchase appropriate hardware, generate the necessary code to implement the control loops and test the output.

Candidates must be able to work independently and manage their own tasks while adhering to deadlines with good attention to detail.

Skills and attributes

DESIRABLE
•      Experience in Siemens PLC systems
•      Experience of working in a research test facility
•      Programming experience/qualifications
•      Management of safety circuits
•      Interest in aerospace
•      UK National

Location: Head Office in Kelston, Bath, with some travel to Cirencester expected

Duration: Full-time, 3 month trial period with the potential for a permanent contract.

Hours: Flexible work hours possible totalling 37.5 hour week, around a core period of 10am-4pm daily

Salary: competitive, dependent upon experience and current pay levels.

The role is available for an immediate start date.
